Charles Goodwin Candidate for President

My name is Charles Goodwin and I am seeking the position of President. Currently I am the Vice President of MCSA and previously served as Co-Regional VP of Middlesex/Suffolk Counties. I currently serve on the Training Committee, along with the legislative committee and bylaws committee. In the past year, I have become deeply engaged in legislation both in our Commonwealth and Nationally. I have had the honor to represent our organization and all telecommunicators in Washington, DC and continue to stay in constant contact with legislators in order to achieve our goals and ensure legislation passes that supports us.

My professional qualifications are: I am currently the Lead Dispatcher and Training Coordinator for the Natick Police Department. I am also the Training Coordinator for the Southborough Police Department and GIS Coordinator for the Southborough Emergency Management Agency. I am the President of United Communication Solutions as well. I also serve as an academic adviser for the Public Service Department of Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School, as a 911 technical adviser to RAVE Mobile Safety, as the Vice-Chair for the Core Competencies and Minimum Training Standards for PSC Manager/Director writing group for APCO, and I was recently selected as a 911 Statewide Assessor for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I also assist many agencies in developing training programs, writing training materials and training manuals, and many other things in my free time.

My educational qualifications are: I hold a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Master of Business Administration with a sub-specialization in Public Administration, and I am studying for my PhD in General Psychology, focusing my research on stress coping mechanisms of telecommunicators. I hold my RPL from APCO, my CMCP from NENA, and have graduated the CCM course from Fitch and Associates.

I have had the honor of assisting many different departments with continuing education and had the honor of speaking both locally and nationally on various topics including leadership, building relationships, dealing with staff and co-workers, and more.

I hope to have your support during this election and in the coming term!
