"Resilience Behind the Radio; Building Self-Care & Psychological Endurance for Dispatchers"
State 911 Approved Behavioral Health Training
Emergency dispatchers face intense, high-stakes situations every shift. They need to strengthen emotional endurance, manage job-related stress, and build sustainable self-care habits that support long-term wellness and peak performance. This practical, skills-based course, designed specifically for dispatch professionals, was created and is presented by The Watch Wellness Group. Opened in 2022 with the purpose of providing high quality occupationally informed and culturally competent therapy and counseling services to First Responders and their families, the company's president, Lisa Knowles, has over a decade of experience working with First Responders in the field of mental health. Participants will learn to recognize the unique physiological and psychological impacts of dispatch work, identify signs of cumulative stress, secondary trauma, and moral injury, and apply simple, effective self-regulation tools they can use both during and after shifts. The course also guides dispatchers in developing realistic, personalized self-care strategies, setting healthy emotional boundaries, and reinforcing their sense of purpose in the role. Through open discussion and practical exercises, this training reduces isolation by normalizing dispatcher-specific stress and encouraging healthy support systems. Build resilience. Protect your well-being. Strengthen your impact behind the headset.
This 4 hour course is approved as a MA State 911 Behavioral Health Training, and approved for grant funding reimbursement
